With new evidence, Turkey expects US to extradite FETÖ leader

A demonstrator walks on a poster of Fetullah Gülen during an anti-coup rally in Istanbul on July 18, 2016. Gülen's terrorist group is accused of carrying out the coup attempt.21/07/2018 (Sabah – Turkey): Clinging to Obama-era inaction on the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ), the U.S. administration drags on the extradition process for the terrorist group’s leader wanted by Turkey. Ankara, meanwhile, hopes Washington will change its mind with more evidence clearly linking Fetullah Gülen to the July 15, 2016 coup attempt. FETÖ’s infiltrators in the military, from generals to low-ranking officers, were behind the attempt that killed 250 people, and Turkey has already sent a large cache of evidence to U.S. officials implicating FETÖ in the attempt. The new evidence spoken about by Justice Minister Abdülhamit Gül on Friday was not disclosed, but it is likely a critical phone call between a coup suspect and one of Gülen’s aides in Pennsylvania in the United States on the night of the coup attempt that was leaked to the media earlier…

Rebellion of a rich country’s poor

21/07/2018 (Al Arabiya – UAE by Hazem al-Amin*): The war on terror has ended in Iraq and levers of power now rest in the hands of Shiite parties with varying degrees of links with Iran. Who is responsible for this failure? Who is the corrupt? Which party is depriving Iraqi people of their national wealth? The country of Tigris and Euphrates is thirsty! The country with the third largest oil reserves in the world is staggering without electricity. The country claiming “victory over ISIS” is controlled by militias of the Popular Mobilization Forces which are no less sectarian than ISIS! The country of free elections is experiencing the biggest electoral fraud! Today, the deteriorating situation has been worsened by a new element. The protests have revealed a bitter truth. The Najaf Airport which protesters stormed and closed is managed by the militias of five parties including the ruling Dawa party. In this sense, the news from Iraq is more surprising than news emanating from some of the “banana republics” in Central America…

FM21/07/2018 (Ahram Online – Egypt): Egypt has announced that it rejects a newly passed Israeli law that defines Israel as “the nation-state of the Jewish people” and states that only Jews have the right of self-determination in the country. In a statement released on Saturday, the Egyptian foreign ministry said that the new Jewish state law, which was passed by the Israeli Knesset on Thursday, solidifies the concept of occupation and apartheid. The law also defines the establishment of Jewish communities as being in the national interest and downgrades Arabic from an official language to one with special status. The Egyptian foreign ministry said that the new law undermines the chances of achieving peace in the Middle East or reaching a fair solution in the Palestinian issue…
