Turkish September budget deficit TL 14.1 bln, minister says

17/10/2015 (Today’s Zaman – Turkey): The budget had accrued TL 639 million in surpluses in the first eight months of this year, which drags the nine-month sum down to TL 13.5 billion.Budget revenues surged by 11.5 percent year-on-year in September to reach TL 33.8 billion, while expenditures were down by 21.2 percent, increasing to TL 47.9 billion.Announcing budget data for September, Şimşek said it was in line with targets and that there was “no need for concern.” He added that Turkey will be able to comfortably achieve revised targets, including on its budget. Maintaining that Turkey will enter a faster growth path in the medium term with reforms and a strong fiscal stance, he stated a 4 percent economic growth target for 2016 could be exceeded if political instability were to lessen.The minister also said public institutions will employ some 74,000 new people in state jobs in 2016…
