PKK terrorists kill ambulance driver in southeastern Turkey25/09/2015 (Sabah – Turkey): Turkey’s Minister of Health Mehmet Müezzinoğlu stated on Friday that a group of PKK terrorists kidnapped an ambulance driver who was on his way to collect wounded security personnel following a terror attack in the Beytüşşebap district of southeastern Şırnak province.Speaking at an Eid event organized by the AK Party in Bursa, the minister said that the driver was kidnapped by PKK terrorists before he was killed. “Terror has ruined our Eid. We have two martyrs today, and 11 of our personnel were wounded by terrorists. We still cannot reach our health personnel who were on the way to the scene to collect our wounded security forces,” he said.While the minister was giving the speech, he was informed that the driver was killed by PKK terrorists following the kidnap. Turkish women earning far less than men in equal jobs

25/09/2015 (Hurriyet – Turkey): A wide gap remains between the annual average principal occupation income of men and women in Turkey, according to figures from the Turkish Statistics Institution (TÜİK), which show that the difference remains wide even among university graduates and company executives. Income inequality is also alarmingly high in sectors where female workforce participation is high. The average principal occupation income, which refers to the basic job that a person earns most from, remained at 20,084 liras for Turkish men and 15,681 liras for women in 2014. The trend is also not good news for women, as the average wage for men increased by 10.75 percent from 2013 while the average wage for women increased by just 8.3 percent. The overall average stood at 19,051 liras, 10.4 percent up from 17,255 liras in 2013. The average principal occupation income for illiterate Turkish citizens was just 7,782 liras last year. Employed men who cannot read or write earned an average of 9,619 liras while illiterate women earned a mere 5,897 liras – marking a 37 percent gap. ..

Eid festivities attract residents and visitors25/09/2015 (Gulf Times – Qatar): Eid al-Adha festivities continue to attract large number of people as various malls, parks, beaches and entertainment centres are overflowing with hundreds of residents and visitors.Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) continued with various entertainment programmes in different malls and other places on Friday. Katara, Souq Waqif, Pearl Qatar and Aspire Zone among other places had large number of people taking part in a number of fun-filled activities. The programmes started at most venues from 4pm.The Ministry of Interior (MoI) organised programmes at two locations on Friday. There was a cultural programme for the Pakistani community at Al Wakrah and another one at Al Khor for the Nepalese community as well as the residents of Al Khor and Ras Laffan.QTA events at various malls continued to attract people all across the city.
